La metalotioneina es una proteina de bajo peso molecular (6000-7000 d), rica en cisteina con ausencia de aminoacidos aromaticos y con un supuesto papel como detoxificante de metales como cadmio y mercurio. Desde el comienzo de la administracion de metotrexato los niveles de metalotioneina son detectables en ambos tejidos, pero su sintesis es maxima en el cuarto dia de tratamiento.  la metalotioneina inducida por metotrexato, podria actuar como detoxificante fisiologico en el organismo para el citostatico sin anular de forma manifiesta su accion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
