Posteriormente, se abordo el estudio de la interaccion metal-organismo de ciertos cationes en el proceso, determinando su influencia en la capacidad de oxidacion de azufre y hierro ferroso y en la biolixiviacion de un concentrado de calcopirita. Metales como el hg, ag, mo y ru mostraron un efecto muy toxico para las bacterias. Se observo, asimismo, una recuperacion general de la actividad bacteriana al emplear bacterias adaptadas a los metales objeto de estudio.  a partir de los resultados obtenidos, se elegio al bismuto para realizar ensayos comparativos con la plata, la cual se ha estudiado por otros investigadores como catalizador de la biolixiviacion de la calcopirita por organismos mesofilos. Se realizaron, primeramente, ensayos con un concentrado diferencial de calcopirita y, posteriormente, ensayos con probetas masivas de calcopirita pura y calcopirita de alta temperatura, tanto con bacterias termofilas como mesofilas, para determinar las caracteristicas del ataque y establecer su mecanismo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
