Asimismo los hepatocitos fetales cultivados a alta densidad celular, son capaces de expresar precozmente genes caracteristicos del estadio adulto como la pepck y la em en respuesta a estimulos hormonales especificos. En este sentido, la expresion del rnam de la pepck en los hepatocitos fetales puede inducirse a corto plazo en presencia de ibmx y forscolina, y a largo plazo, por la combinacion de glucagon y dexametasona. Por su parte la insulina inhibe ligeramente dicha induccion. El cultivo de los hepatocitos en presencia de t3, insulina y dexametasona en un medio suplementado con glucosa 5 mm, produce la expresion precoz del rnam de la em siendo la t3 el principal inductor. Esta induccion es paralela a un incremento en el contenido de proteina y actividad especifica em. La glucosa, y otras fuentes de carbono como el lactato-piruvato y la dihidroxiacetona pueden inducir la expresion genica de la em en ausencia de hormonas. La insulina y la t3 individualmente son tambien importantes inductores de la expresion del rnam de la g6pd en los hepatocitos fetales, y al combinarlas presentan un efecto sinergico sobre dicha induccion. Sin embargo, la dexametasona reduce fuertemente este efecto.  la presencia de glucagon o de diburiril ampc, reprime la expresion de la em y la g6pd. Por ultimo, los hepatocitos proliferantes muestran una alta expresion de g6pd mientras que la expresion de pepck y em se ve reprimida.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
