Igualmente, para observar posibles variaciones en el metabolismo de los fosfatidilinositoles e inositoles fosfato, los islotes fueron incubados en un medio carente de calcio y, a concentraciones de glucosa 20 mm o 2,8 mm. Tambien fueron utilizadas otras substancias estimulantes, como los aminoacidos esenciales glutamina-leucina, a concentracion 10 mm, para ver como los fosfatidilinositoles e inositoles fosfato se metabolizan.
