En este trabajo se describen las concentraciones en tres sistemas neurales:  la celula cromafin, los sinaptosomas de pez electrico y los sinapde cerebro de rata. Igualmente se estudia la secrecion de los citados compuestos asi como los receptores a los que se unen los diadenosina polifosfatos. Es importante resaltar que los receptores purinergicos presentes en los sinaptosomas de cerebro de rata son de un tipo no descrito hasta el momento. Como final de la accion de estos dinucleotidos, la degradacion de estos es llevada a cabo por un conjunto de ecto-enzimas, una fosfodiesterasa, una atpasa, una adpasa y la 5 nucleotidasa, que rinden como producto final adenosina que es transportada posteriormente al interior de la celula por un transportador de alta afinidad. Con todo esto podemos afirmar que los diadenosina polifosfatos presentan caracteristicas muy similares a las de otros neurotransmisores \u00abclasicos\u00bb, razon por la cual es sugerida la
