Antes de centrarnos en los tejidos coptos se ha realizado un estudio de los aspectos historico religiosos del mundo copto y se ha analizado el arte copto en sus distintas manifestaciones para relacionar su estetica con la de los tejidos. La produccion textil se estudia desde distintos puntos de vista: las funciones y tipolog\u00eda de los tejidos, la organizacion de la industria y los centros manufactureros, los materiales y la tecnolog\u00eda textil.  tambien se aborda el estudio cronologico, uno de los aspectos mas controvertidos de la produccion textil copta por los procedimientos que se utilizaron en la exhumacion de los tejidos. Cada uno de los motivos de la decoracion textil son estudiados analizando su origen, morfolog\u00eda y pervivencia.  se estudia la repercusion de la industria textil copta en el arte occidental, muy difusa a la luz de los conocimientos que tenemos en la actualidad, ya que muchos motivos considerados de origen copto pudieron llegar a occidente a traves de otras vias de penetracion de influencias orientales: arte bizantino, sasanida, musulman&#8230;  en el catalogo de los tejidos del museo arqueologico nacional y del museo nacional de artes decorativas se estudia cada pieza en sus aspectos tecnicos (materiales, torsion de los hilos, colores, tecnica, textura del tejido&#8230;), Esteticos y cronologicos, y se lleva a cabo un estudio comparativo con tejidos conservados en otras
