Como decoracion mural el esgrafiado participa en numerosos edificios -a veces fundamentales en la historia del arte- pudiendo aparecer en culturas y lugares muy diferentes. En segovia, ciudad y provincia objetos de nuestro estudio, su importancia es decisiva ya que constituye el revoco mas caracteristico de sus fachadas.
