La propuesta de un nuevo universalismo responde a la crisis de la razon que resulta del conflicto entre las cc. Del hombre &#8211; entendidas de forma objetivista &#8211; y la filosofia de la reflexion, y expresa una doble necesidad: 1) superar el paradigma epistemologico, marco comun del naturalismo y del idealismo, que se define por una ontolog\u00eda del ser como objeto y la posicion del espectador absoluto como ideal de conocimiento, y 2) evitar el dilema entre un racionalismo dogmatico y el relativismo esceptico. Una comprension situada de la razon toma como hilo conductor la experiencia para interrogar nuestra pertenencia al ser, una condicion ontologica positiva que no ha de ser pensada como limitacion sino como apertura. Las condiciones de la cultura moderna exigen una conciencia filosofica que emprenda el examen del conocimiento y la moralidad sin presuponer la idea de un infinito positivo.
