Ademas se presenta un modelo termico litosferico de un perfil e-w a traves de la cordillera varisca y el margen continental de galicia occidental.  se ha elaborado un mapa de flujo de calor superficial para el noroeste de la peninsula iberica a partir de los datos de gradiente geotermico y conductividad termica correspondientes a 46 sondeos de abastecimiento de agua y mineros y 43 sondeos de petroleo. El valor medio de flujo de calor superficial obtenido es de 50+- 8mw\/m2.  se ha calculado la produccion radiogenica de calor en 40 muestras representativas de la corteza heroinica, a partir de las concentraciones de uranio torio y potasio.  los valores obtenidos oscilan entre 0.9 y 3.6 nw\/m2 en rocas graniticas, entre 0.3 y 2.2 pw\/m3 y entre 0.0 y 1.8 pw\/m3 en muestras correspondientes a unidades catazonales y oftoliticas.  se ha determinado la estructura de la litosfera en una seccion a traves del margen continental de galicia y el noroeste de la peninsula iberica, utilizando un algoritmo bidimensional de elementos finitos. El espesor litosferico obtenido varia entre 90 km en la zona continental y 140 km en el margen continental con una zona de transicion relativamente reducida situada bajo el banco de
