A partir de especies mononucleares con ligandos s2cpr3 y halogeno se han preparado varias familias de compuestos en los que los ligandos s2cpr3 y halogeno actuan como puentes entre dos metales sin enlace directo.  se han estudiado las reacciones de sustitucion de carbonilos por ligandos mono y bidentados, y se ha llevado a cabo su reduccion con amalgama de sodio, obteniendose aniones muy reactivos. Estos aniones reaccionan con electrofilos, introduciendo ligandos terminales como snph3 o alilo, o puentes de tres electrones, como tiolato, selemolato, o fosfuro.  a partir de los modos de coordinacion de los ligandos s2cpr3 en los diferentes compuestos, y de los cambios observados en esta coordinacion (transposiciones del carbono central), al cambiar los estados de oxidacion formal de
