Trabajos previos demostraron in vitro que propofol inhib\u00eda el funcionalismo plaquetario, estimulando la producci\u00f3n de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico. el objetivo del presente estudio es valorar estos efectos en pacientes quir\u00fargicos anestesiados con propofol. El estudio se realiz\u00f3 sobre pacientes quir\u00fargicos sin complicaciones cardiovasculares. Se constituyeron tres grupos:  1,- pacientes a los que se administr\u00f3 un \u00fanico bolo intravenoso de propofol.  2,- pacientes a los que se inyect\u00f3 un \u00fanico bolo intravenoso de tiopental s\u00f3dico.  3,- pacientes a los que se anestesi\u00f3 con una infusi\u00f3n continua intravenosa de propofol.  se realiz\u00f3 una extracci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea antes y otras despu\u00e9s de administrar cada anest\u00e9sico. Se cuantific\u00f3 la agregometr\u00eda plaquetaria en sangre total o en plaquetas con hemties o leucocitos, la producci\u00f3n de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico, de prostaciclina y de tromboxano. Tanto en el grupo uno como en el grupo tres, se observ\u00f3 una inhibici\u00f3n de la agregaci\u00f3n plaquetaria de aproximadamente un 505. As\u00ed mismo la producci\u00f3n de tromboxano se inhibi\u00f3 un 60-70%, increment\u00e1ndose la producci\u00f3n leucocitaria de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico. En todos los casos la presencia de leucocitos potenci\u00f3 el efecto antiagregante de propofol. Tiopental s\u00f3dico no modific\u00f3 los par\u00e1metros determinados.
