En ella se presenta una importante base de datos, principalmente espectroscopia de alta resolucion en el rango optico, que es la mas completa de que se dispone en la actualidad. A partir de estos datos observacionales se ha estudiado el sistema, analizando su geometria y separando sus componentes individuales, desarrollando un modelo que permite re-interpretar con exito la mayor parte de las propiedades v404. Asi, se han conseguido resultados muy importantes, tales como las determinaciones de la clase espectral de la secundaria, de la contribucion relativa al continuo del disco de acrecion, y, sobre todo, de la funcion de masas para el objeto compacto central.
