A este ultimo grupo de microorganismos, entre otros, pertenece rhizobium, capaz de fijar nitrogeno en asociacion simbiotica con plantas leguminosas, comprobandose que rizobio presenta una pronunciada especificidad por su planta hospedadora. En este estudio, nos hemos centrado en una de estas asociaciones especificas, en concreto, la de r. Leguminosarum bv. Trifolii-trebol. El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue introducir de forma estable genes simbioticos, mediante doble recombinacion homologa, en el plasmido simbiotico de la cepa rs1051 de r.  leguminosarum bv. Trifolii. Se analizaron las caracteristicas simbioticas en hospedadores especificos o no especificos de las cepas construidas. Mediante la introduccion de los genes de nodulacion, se obtuvo la reconstruccion de cepas con fenotipo nod- (no nodulante) derivados de la cepa silvestre, adquiriendo estas la capacidad de nodular plantas de trebol. Asimismo, se amplio el rango de hospedador de rs1051 a huespedes no especificos, en concreto alfalfa y frijol, mediante la introduccion de los genes necesarios para
