Jes\u00fas <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La ortopaladacion de iminas con cadenas alifaticas largas da lugar a complejos dinucleares que se comportan como cristales liquidos. La complejacion presenta al menos dos ventajas: los ligandos libres no precisan ser mesogenos para que el complejo lo sea y aumenta la estabilidad termica de las mesofases. Como desventajas, los puntos de fusion son muy elevados y a menudo se produce la descomposicion en el aclaramiento. A partir de estos complejos se han sintetizado los acetilacetonato-derivados. Su forma poco simetrica hace que los puntos de fusion y de aclaramiento sean mucho menores y que aparezcan mesofases nematicas. Ambas propiedades son importantes de cara a la procesabilidad y aplicabilidad de estos materiales.  la modificacion de estas estructuras por la presencia de uno o dos centros quirales en la imina resulta en la obtencion de cristales liquidos con comportamiento ferroelectrico. Los valores de polarizacion espontanea y de tiempo de respuesta han sido ampliamente mejorados respecto a los primeros metalomesogenos ferroelectricos descritos.  por otra parte, se ha investigado el comportamiento como cristales liquidos de los tiolatos alifaticos de plata.
