Se han desarrollado nuevos medios de separacion para el analisis de proteinas por electroforesis capilar de alto voltaje (ecav).  asi, se ha puesto a punto un metodo para recubrir la pared interna del capilar empleando un gel de poliacrilamida entrecruzada que permite la separacion de proteinas basicas en cortos tiempos de analisis con elevadas eficacias. Por otro lado, se ha desarrollado un medio de separacion empleando polietilenglicol como aditivo polimerico al tampon, que posibilita la separacion de proteinas segun su masa molecular. Se ha demostrado el potencial de ecav para el analisis cuantitavo de proteinas en sueros lacteos.  se ha desarrollado y validado un modelo matematico que permite cuantificar las interacciones proteina-capilar. Se han estudiado y comparado diferentes medios de separacion (capilares rellenos con geles de poliacrilamida en condiciones desnaturalizantes y no desnaturalizantes, recubrimientos clasicos de
