La epig\u00e9nesis surgi\u00f3 para explicar los cambios que ocurren a lo largo del desarrollo, y actualmente se considera el control sobre par\u00e1sitos nucleares (como son los transposones) el elemento unificador de todos estos mecanismos.  los resultados de este trabajo sugieren que el alga verde unicelular chamydomonas est\u00e1 afectada por mecanismos de regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica reversibles, que permiten la adaptaci\u00f3n a condiciones selectivas y la reversi\u00f3n del fenotipo cuando la selecci\u00f3n desaparece. Este alga representa un modelo para el estudio del papel de la cromatina en la adaptaci\u00f3n al medio, que no se puede observar en organismos pluricelulares.  la alta frecuencia de aparici\u00f3n de colonias resistentes a distintos herbicidas encontrada en este alga debe ser explicada tanto por mutaciones como por epimutaciones. Adem\u00e1s, la exposici\u00f3n de chamydomonas a condiciones selectivas favorece la aparici\u00f3n de colonias resistentes, fen\u00f3menos que tambi\u00e9n se ha descrito en bacterias, y que se ha
