Asuncion <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Es conocida la importancia de la ecuacion matricial de sylvester ax-xb =c en teoria de matrices y sus aplicaciones; asi como la estrecha conexion de esta ecuacion con la relacion de semejanza de matrices cuadradas. En esta tesis se estudia la ecuacion matricial analoga asociada a la semejanza por bloques de pares de matrices (a,b), con a nxn y b nxm, o equiValencia por retroalimentacion de sistemas con control x = ax + bu. Se obtiene la dimension del espacio vectorial de soluciones de la ecuacion homogenea correspondiente en terminos de los invariantes de la semejanza por bloques. La formula de la dimension tiene muchas consecuencias algebraicas y topologicas que se estudian en este trabajo; entre otras, un nuevo criterio racional de semejanza por bloques.
