Se ha elaborado un modelo matematico para este sistema y mediante simulacion se han determinado los rangos de valores mas adecuados para las diferentes variables de operacion. Comparada con otros transformadores termicos descritos en la literatura, la bomba de calor estudiada presenta rendimientos comparables y, ademas, la ventaja de un mayor salto termico. El punto clave para el futuro desarrollo de esta bomba de calor es la disponibilidad de los catalizadores, lo suficientemente estables y selectivos para llevar a cabo las reacciones quimicas implicadas. Se ha estudiado la reaccion de hidrogenacion de la acetona con catalizadores de niquel y cobalto soportados sobre sio2, tio2, al2o3, mgo, zno y carbon activo en las condiciones mas favorables para el funcionamiento de la bomba de calor.
