El fsc y las resistencias cerebrovasculares se han cuantificado con el metodo de las microesferas radiactivas y una toma de sangre arterial de referencia. La actividad ciclooxigenasa cerebral se ha evaluado midiendo la produccion \u00abex vivo\u00bb de pge2 en cortes de cerebro, mediante ria.  en condiciones de normocapnia, la administracion de farmacos inhibidores de la sintesis de pgs (aspirina 10 y 50 mg\/kg; indometacina 2 y 5 mg\/kg; diclofenac 5 mg\/kg y salicilato sodico 10 y 50 mg\/kg) provoca vasoconstriccion cerebral y disminucion del fsc pero la correlacion entre grado de inhibicion de la sintesis de pgs y la intensidad de los efectos cerebrovasculares es muy pobre y no significativa. La administracion de pgi2 no dilata los vasos cerebrales y el fsc desciende junto con la presion arterial; ademas, no revierte los efectos de la aspirina ni de la indometacina.  la hipercapnia produce un incremento del fsc que es reducido por el salicilato sodico y abolido por la indometacina pero no modificado por los otros farmacos.  ademas, la pgi2 no revierte el efecto de la indometacina.  se concluye que las prostaglandinas no participan en el mantenimiento del fsc en condiciones basales ni en la vasodilatacion cerebral inducida por hipercapnia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
