Trabajos anteriores habian demostrado la presencia de inmunorrealtividad de anticuerpos contra apo d contra proteinas, plasmaticas diferentes de esta. En este estudio, tras aislarse apo d del plasma y generarse anticuerpos especificos contra apo d, la unica causa de reaccion cruzada encontrada fue la presencia de complejos de apod-adob-100, en vldl y ldl, y de apod-apoaii en hdl y vhdl, todos ellos mediados por puentes disulfuro. Estos ultimos son la forma mayoritaria de apo d en el plasma. Estudios en plasma completo tambien demostraron inmunorreactividad de proteinas diferentes de apo d. Sin embargo, la misma tambien aparecio utilizando anticuerpos contra otros antigenos y la misma fue, fundamentalmente ya la interaccion de los anticuerpos con ig g
