El seguimiento de los procesos de desnaturalizacion termica mediante fttr, indica que las tres formas de la membrana experimentan cambios de estructura secundaria muy similares, que en el caso de las formas modificadas, comienzan a temperaturas considerablemente inferiores.  los resultados sugieren que la transcion calorimetrica principal de la mp es debida a un cambio conformacional cooperativo, que parece producirse a partir de la disrupcion de las interacciones entre la base de schiff protonada y su entorno proteico.  el estudio de la estructura secundaria de la bacteriorodopsina y de la bacterioopsina, a partir del analisis de la amida i de los espectros de infrarrojo, ha permitido desarrollar un metodo que permite evaluar la influencia de las tecnicas matematicas (deconvolucion y ajuste de bandas) en el analisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de la estructura secundaria. Se ha determinado que la hidrolisis de la base de schiff no afecta drasticamente la estructura secundaria de la proteina.  el conjunto de resultados refuerza la idea de la molecula del cromoforo (el
