Se han aportado nuevos datos mecanisticos que apoyan la hipotesis mecanistica para las reacciones de complejos de co(ii) y de cu(ii) de b-dicetonas con haluros de alquilo. La reaccion del complejo de co(ii) del salicilaldehido con peroxido de benzoilo ha permitido aislar un intermedio propuesto en dicho esquema mecanistico. Se ha puesto a punto un metodo de sintesis de a-aril-b-dicetonas por reaccion de complejos de cu(ii) con tetrafluroboratos de aronodiazonio. Se ha realizado un estudio conformacional de la 3-(1-adamantil)-3-metil-2,4-pentanodiona y de las a-aril-b-dicetonas sintetizadas en esta tesis a traves de un metodo puesto a punto en la linea de investigacion del prof. Marcial moreno-ma\u00f1as, que consiste en calculo por mecanica molecular de las conformaciones y del momento dipolar global y por otro lado, medicion de los momentos dipolares experimentales. Se ha realizado un estudio de difraccion de rayos-x de la 3-(1-adamantil)-3-metil-2,4-pentanodiona y de (2r, 3r, 4s)-3-(1-adamantil)-3-metil-2,4-pentanodiol. Las reacciones de anaminonas quirales con haluros de alquilo dan lugar a b-dicetonas-a,a-dialquiladas con excesos enantiomericos.  los complejos de co(ii) de la 2,4-pentanodiona y del acetoacetato de etilo reaccionan con n-boc-2-bromo-glicinato de etilo produciendo derivados de la 4-oxonorvalina que conducen a a-aminoacidos heterociclicos, conteniendo los anillos de pirazol, isoxazol y 5-pirazolona.
