En 30 conejos raza new zealand de entre 2 y 3 kgs. De peso se ha realizado la extraccion de una lamina de perisotio de la parte proximal de la tibia. Mediante crioprotectores y programa de congelacion adecuado ha sido criopreservado en nitrogeno liquido por espacio de 3 semanas, siendo reimplantado en un defecto condral realizado en la rodilla de otro conejo, de manera que la capa mas profunda del periostio se localice en contacto con la articulacion. Se ha repetido la experiencia en un grupo control de 19 individuos en los que el periostio no ha sido criocongelado.  se han valorado los resultados a las tres semanas, estableciendose variables macroscopicas y microscopicas.  de las 57 variables estudiadas solo 5 han resultado significativas y lo han sido a favor del tejido crioconservado.  se concluye que el periostio crioconservado en
