Ovis y b. Canis (m-) con y sin 2-mercaptoetanol (2-me), aglutinacion en tubo con 2-me (2-me-at) y doble difusion en gel de agarosa (ddga) con extractos solubles salinos (ess) y extractos solubles citoplasmaticos (esc) de b.  canis, respectivamente. Nuestros resultados indican un alto grado de acuerdo entre las aglutinaciones con 2-me y la ddga (esc). Por otra parte, la ddga (ess) produjo un gran numero de reacciones positivas que no pudieron confirmarse por otras pruebas a excepcion de la arp (b.  ovis). En la segunda parte exponemos el desarrollo y los resultados de un elisa indirecto elaborado con ess de las cepas rm 6\/66 y m- de b. Canis. El uso de este antigeno obtenido de la primera de las cepas produjo una inaceptable discriminacion de los sueros considerados positivos y de los negativos. Sin embargo, el uso de los ess de la cepa m- permitio desarrollar una prueba con una sensibilidad del 93,75% y una especificidad del 95,65%.  en la tercera parte de esta tesis, se realizo un estudio seroepidemiologico frente a b. Canis y brucelas de tipo liso en en perros con propietario y perros de perreras de catalu\u00f1a. Los anticuerpos frente a b. Canis se determinaron por un cribaje con arp (m-) y confirmacion de los resultados positivos por ddga (esc). La presencia de anticuerpos frente a brucelas de tipo liso se determino por la aglutinacion con antigeno te\u00f1ido con rosa de bengala y posterior confirmacion mediante la fijacion del complemento. La preValencia frente a b.  canis fue del 6,67% en los perros de perreras y del 1,99% en los perros con propietario.
