En el apartado 2, se describe la evolucion de la presencia de las explicaciones intencionales a lo largo del tiempo mostrando el lugar que ocupan en el panorama cognitivo. Se aborda el problema de la interpretacion teorica de esta presencia y se establece una diferencia entre el uso de la pi por parte de los clasicos y el analisis critico que de ella realizan los miembros de la corriente analitica. En el apartado 3, se detallan y evaluan los modelos de explicacion y los presupuestos teoricos presentes tanto en los analisis reduccionistas de la pi como en los no reduccionistas. Se perfilan las caracteristicas de la pi bajo el prisma del modelo nomologico-deductivo, el modelo del silogismo practico y el de la definicion funcional.  se describen los problemas semanticos en que incurren diversas formulaciones del materialismo y tambien los que aparecen en torno a la reduccion interteorica. En el apartado 4, se argumenta en favor del materialismo no eliminativista partiendo de una cierta reivindicacion del monismo anomalo, del funcionalismo teleonomico y de la critica de la teoria del significado usada por los eliminativistas, asi como del rechazo de la analogia que estos establecen entre la pi y los paradigmas teoricos regresivos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
