Por una parte los 2-p-tolilsulfinilmaleatos enantiomericamente puros y diferentemente sustituidos sobre los dos grupos carboxilo, de cuyo comportamiento se deduce que pueden considerarse como equivalentes sinteticos quirales de acetilendicarboxilatos. En este apartado caben destacar los resultados obtenidos con el sulfinilmaleato de bencilo y metilo, que en presencia de tetracloruro de titanio reacciona con una amplia gama de dienos (butadieno; 2,3-dimetilbutadieno; isopreno; trans,trans-2,4-hexadieno; ciclohexadieno; piperileno; dieno de dane) con completa regioselectividad, endoselectividad y selectividad facial. Por otra parte se han estudiado las 2-p-tolilsulfinilcicloalquenonas enantiomericamente puras, y en especial la correspondiente ciclopentenona que, por reaccion con el dieno de dane, permite un acceso
