Hemos observado que la calmodulina es capaz de inhibir la actividad tirosina quinasa del receptor del egf asi como su autofosforilacion.  la calmodulina se fosforila por proteina quinasa (s) de la membrana plasmatica. El receptor delegf fosforica a la calmodulina en la tirosina-99. En las condiciones optimas de reaccion, se alcanza un estequiometria (mol fosfato\/ mol calmodulina) de 1.
