Asimismo se han estudiado los efectos fisiologicos dervados de su ingesta en comparacion con los componentes de la fibra dietetica.  los resultados obtenidos demuestran la similitud existente entre polifenoles y fibra, tanto en terminos de degradabilidad como en las propiedades fisiologicas de estos compuestos.  en base a estos resultados, se sugiere la consideracion de los polifenoles como
