La excitacion coherente trata de optimizar el aporte de energia, manteniendo la excitacion en fase con la velocidad del grado de libertad que se pretende estudiar; no obstante, se admite un desfase entre la fuerza y la velocidad, que modeliza en cierta forma la imperfeccion en el proceso de excitacion coherente.  se analizan diferentes tipos de acoplamiento racional entre las frecuencias propias: 2:1, 1:1 y 3:1.  para valores limites de los parametros que caracterizan el proceso, se obtienen aplicaciones de maximos de la amplitud que se pretende excitar; asi por ejemplo, en el acoplamiento 2:1, la anterior aplicacion de maximos es de tipo bimodal, es decir, con maximo y minimo relativo, y al ser el maximo de tipo cuadratico, al ir variando el valor de los parametros, la aplicacion va a presentar una cascada de bifurcaciones semejante a la de la conocida \u00abaplicacion logistica\u00bb, y en la que tambien se cumple la universalidad de feigenbaum. La tesis finaliza con una generalizacion para potenciales cualesquiera, de los ejemplos estudiados, mostrando el caracter universal de los fenomenos descritos en el acoplamiento
