Con rendimientos cercanos al 20% a un sol. Se utiliza un programa comercial (pc-1d) para el analisis, junto con modelos especificos para fenomenos concretos (recombinacion periferica, optica). Se concluye que la zona p+ de aluminio difundido es muy recombinante y limita el rendimiento de la celula. La caracterizacion permite, indirectamente, calibrar la corriente de cortocircuito bajo iluminacion estandar.  en la segunda parte se analizan las cavidades confinadoras de luz desde un punto de vista teorico. Se propone y estudia la cavidad eliptica. Las medidas sobre un prototipo demuestran el efecto positivo de la cavidad; que aumenta la corriente de la celula y su rendimiento. Por ultimo, se considera la posibilidad de incluir celulas de silicio y arseniuro de galio en la misma cavidad; calculandose el rendimiento a esperar del sistema y la configuracion
