Inicialmente se exponen las bases microporcesales de una familia de filtros cuya construccion esta inspirada directamente en la microestructura sinaptica de las neuronas. A partir de las propiedades formales de este constructo matematico realizado, basado en los filtros de newton, surgen de forma elegante y natural interpretaciones funcionales y estructurales de clasicos paradigmas neurofisiologicos.  completando el circulo que revela la interaccion entre el mundo de lo natural y lo artificial, se presenta un ejemplo, investigado directamente en el mundo natural, que ilustra la estrecha relacion funcion-estructura, apuntada en la primera parte de la obra, que subyase en las redes neuronales.
