En las mismas condiciones se produce una elevacion de los niveles de la subunidad alfa-s de la proteina transductora gs, suficiente para explicar el aumento de la actividad adenilil ciclasa observado. Igualmente, el aumento del colesterol celular produce un efecto mitogenico en las celulas gh4c1 (subclon de tumor adenohipofisario de rata).
