Sin embargo, no es posible establecer correlacion entre la entrada de calcio y la secrecion, porque ambos fenomenos se han estudiado de forma muy diferente. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar la secrecion y la corriente de calcio de la forma lo mas parecida posible, para poder establecer correlaciones entre ambos procesos. Se estudiaron las corrientes de calcio en respuesta pulsos despolarizantes identicos a los utilizados en los estudios de secrecion.  la entrada de calcio que entro a cada celula cromafin en respuesta a dicho pulso fue 1 femtomol. La corriente y la secrecion se inhibieron por los bloqueantes de los canales de tipo l, mientras que la secrecion no se vio afectada por los bloqueantes especificos de los canales de tipo n o p, lo
