Ambos canales se caracterizaron electrofisiologicamente en sistemas de expresion heterologa, observandose que sus propiedades biofisicas corresponden a las propiedades correspondientes de las subfamilias genicas a las que pertenecen. Utilizando tecnicas de pcr y cdna procedente de medula adrenal bovina, se ha clonado el cdna de la subunidad nicotinica alfa7 que se caracterizo bioquimica y biofisicamente en oocitos de xenopus laevis. Sus propiedades corresponden a un receptor nicotinico ionotropico constituido por 5 subunidades alfa7 y bloqueable por alfa-bungarotoxina. Se ha identificado un transcripto alternativo de la subunidad alfa7 que podria regular la expresion superficial de los receptores en la celula cromafin. Finalmente, se estudiaron dominios estructurales importantes en el ensamblaje del oligomero y en la funcion del receptor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
