La dinamica hidrologica de la cu\u00f1a salina esta fundamentalmente determinada por el caudal fluvial, existiendo una regresion lineal (r2=0.92) entre este y la profundidad de la interfase agua dulce-agua salada. Sin embargo, el avance y retroceso del frente de la cu\u00f1a no presenta una relacion lineal con el caudal fluvial, debido a la irregular topografia del fondo del estuario. En las zonas de poca profundidad, la cu\u00f1a salina se mantiene estacionaria entre un determinado intervalo de caudales.  es importante destacar que en promedio, la cu\u00f1a salina esta ausente del tramo final del rio ebro seis meses al a\u00f1o, y que el caudal fluvial que determina su entrada coincide con la media anual.  el establecimiento de la cu\u00f1a implica una fuerte estratificacion, con una capa superior que mantiene las caracteristicas del agua fluvial, aunque con un ligero aumento de salinidad.
