Se trata de un an\u00e1lisis pormenorizado de cada uno de los componentes estructurales del edificio, insistiendo tanto en su morfolog\u00eda como en su evoluci\u00f3n constructiva. profundiza adem\u00e1s en la funcionalidad del edificio teatral romano, destacando su papel en las nuevas din\u00e1micas sociopol\u00edticas del r\u00e9gimen imperial. Para la caracterizaci\u00f3n del edificio ha sido tambi\u00e9n preciso una detallada catalogaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis de los elementos arquitect\u00f3nico, escult\u00f3ricos y epigr\u00e1ficos hallados en \u00e9l, permitiendo as\u00ed reconstruir la siguiente evoluci\u00f3n constructiva: fue construido, en torno al cambio de era en la ciudad romana de it\u00e1lica, muy probablemente, con motivo de la monumentalizaci\u00f3n de \u00e9sta coincidiendo con su conversi\u00f3n en municipium en \u00e9poca de augusto; a partir de este momento el edificio contar\u00e1 con los diferentes elementos caracter\u00edsticos de su tipolog\u00eda. Se llevan a cabo ciertas reformas puntuales en la segunda mitad del siglo i d.C., En especial manifiestas en los itinera y en la parte alta de la cauea, en \u00e9sta \u00faltima, probablemente, en relaci\u00f3n a nuves conexiones con los principales edificios de representaci\u00f3n de la ciudad. Por \u00faltimo en \u00e9poca severiana se reforma el \u00e1rea de la escena sin afectar a su n\u00facleo estructural. El edificio se abandona en torno a la primera mitad del siglo iv d.C. Momento a partir del cual comienza una ocupaci\u00f3n residual de sus estructuras as\u00ed como un intenso expolio de sus materiales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
