El aumento de la permeabilidad vascular se pone de manifiesto detectando la extravasaci\u00f3n de proteinas plasmaticas, lo que conduce a un da\u00f1o cerebral secundario. cambios morfologicos relacionados con la extension del edema se encuentran primero en la sustancia blanca subyacente y progresivamente afectan al cuerpo calloso y al hemisferio contralateral. La secuencia de la variaci\u00f3n de positividad para vegf\/vpf guarda relacion con las fluctuaciones del edema lo que apoya su accion moduladora de la permeabilidad vascular. A partir de las 6 horas de sobrevivencia en la region perilesional se pone de manifiesto un aumento de la expresion de proteinas de respuesta al estr\u00e9s, en periodos posteriores de sobrevivencia la distribucion de celulas positivas guarda una analog\u00eda topografica con la distribuci\u00f3n del edema. La cuantificaci\u00f3n de la apoptosis refleja una discreta participaci\u00f3n en la maduraci\u00f3n del foco necr\u00f3tico y muy escasa en la region perinecrotica, entre las 6 y las 72 horas. Un posible fundamento para esa esacasa participacion de la apoptosis puede estar en la simultaneidad de expresion entre hsp70 (sistema de proteccion dela sintesis proteica, de la familia de proteinas
