El objetivo a largo plazo es abordar un programa de hibridaci\u00f3n asim\u00e9trica dirigida a la transferencia de los genes que determina la tolerancia a la salinidad y estr\u00e9s hidrico desde los parentales silvestres al tomate cultivado.  el estudio de la respuesta cultural y morfogen\u00e9tica de los protoplastos aislados a partir lycopersicon esculentum, 1. Cheesmanii y l. Pennelli y l. Pennellii ha puesto en evidencia distintos aspectos que influyen en el aislamiento, cultivo y regeneraci\u00f3n de plantas a partir de protoplastos de cada especie. Se ha consegudio la regeneraci\u00f3n de plantas en los tres casos pero los callos procedentes de l. Pennelliii tienen una mayor aptitud morfogen\u00e9tica que los de l. Esculentum y l. Cheesmanii.  se han obtendio callos h\u00edbridos en experimenyos de fusi\u00f3n de protoplastos entre l. Esculentum (+) l cheesmanii y l. Esculentum (+) l. Pennellii.  la caracterizaci\u00f3n molecular mediante pcr ha permitido comprobar la presencia de bandas caracteristicas de los genes nptii y unida, en los callos seleccionados como presunyos hibridos en los distintos experimentos de fusi\u00f3n realizados. El an\u00e1lisis histoqu\u00edmico x-gluc revel\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n la expresi\u00f3n del fen delator en la mayor\u00eda de estos callos. Adem\u00e1s, los an\u00e1lisis de polimorfismo del adn, mediante rpad y ap-pcr, mostraron la naturaleza hibrida de los callos seleccionados. Estos an\u00e1lisis mostraron la p\u00e9rdida gradual de genoma del parental l. Cheesmanii en el cruce con l. Esculentum y de los dos parentales en el cruce l. Esculentum (+) l.
