Los materiales carbonosos estudiados (coques y mesofase obtenidos por la industria del refino del petr\u00f3leo) fueron proporcionados por repsol-ypf, mientras que se sintetizaron compuestos de esta\u00f1o y compuestos de antimonio.  se ha mostrado la posibilidad de caracterizar mediante la t\u00e9cnica rpe, centros paramagn\u00e9ticos y electrones de conducci\u00f3n en estos coques y mesofases, que fueron tratados a diferentes temperaturas, en vac\u00edo din\u00e1mico y en atm\u00f3sfera inerte. Por otra parte, se han identificado distintos tipos de \u00e1tomos de litio presentes durante la primera descarga del electrodo carbonoso, mediante el uso de la t\u00e9cnica de rmn de 6li. Desde el punto de vista electroqu\u00edmico, se ha comprobado el buen comportamiento de los coques tratados a 750\u00c2\u00bac en vac\u00edo din\u00e1mico.  en el estudio realizado sobre compuestos de esta\u00f1o se han utilizado las especies oxalato de esta\u00f1o (ii) y clorofosfato de esta\u00f1o (ii) con un buen resultado durante el ciclado galvanost\u00e1tico, mientras que se ha comprobado la influencia de la v\u00eda de s\u00edntesis empleada en el comportamiento electroqu\u00edmico de diversos di\u00f3xidos de esta\u00f1o sintetizados.  la t\u00e9cnica de espectroscop\u00eda m\u00ed\u00b6ssbauer posee una enorme aplicabilidad en el estudio de los mecanismos involucrados en los sistemas an\u00f3dicos de esta\u00f1o y antimonio. Concretamente, mediante el uso de esta t\u00e9cnica, se han identificado numerosos aspectos hasta ahora no bien establecidos en la reacci\u00f3n del mon\u00f3xido de esta\u00f1o en las celdas de \u00e1nodo de litio.  por primera vez se han usado compuestos intermet\u00e1licos de antimonio y elementos de transici\u00f3n, como el cromo y el cobalto, como electrodos en bater\u00edas de litio.
