El interes del estudio se ha centrado en poner de manifiesto las posibilidades de deformacion superplastica de estos materiales en determinadas condicionadas condiciones experimentales. El estudio de los materiales se ha complementado con una investigacion bibliografica orientada a revelar las caracteristicas fundamentales de la fluencia de policristales de nitruro de silicio.  la deformacion plastica a alta temperatura de los materiales objeto del estudio esta caracterizada, en todo el rango de tensiones y temperaturas utilizado, por un exponente de tension sistematicamente menor que uno, con un valor promedio n=0,6 en ambos casos. La caracteriacion de los materiales deformados, asi como el analisis de los resultados experimentales en terminos de modelos conocidos, han permitido concluir que las caracteristicas de deformacion de los materiales son compatibles con  un mecanismo de deformacion por deslizamiento de fronteras de grano acomodado por disolucion-reprecipitacion, en el que los procesos que marcan la velocidad de
