Adem\u00e1s de los avances te\u00f3ricos, se estudian con detalle las investigaciones realizadas hasta la fecha y se buscan aportaciones metodol\u00f3gicas.  en el segundo cap\u00edtulo se ilustra la naturaleza del producto hotelero y se presenta una perspectiva de la evoluci\u00f3n del sector hotelero en ese pa\u00eds. Se estudia la oferta hotelera, su capacidad instalada y su marco geogr\u00e1fico, las caracter\u00edsticas de su actividad y la calidad de sus intalaciones, dando paso a un an\u00e1lisis del consumidor de los servicios hoteleros en m\u00e9xico, su motivaci\u00f3n de compra y su patr\u00f3n de gasto. A continuaci\u00f3n se establecen las bases para la segmentaci\u00f3n del turista, en virtud de su procedencia, de los centros tur\u00edsticos que visita y del tipo de turismo que realiza. ultimada \u00e9sta, se presentan las tendencias m\u00e1s visibles, tratando de identificar los cambios que se avecinan. Por \u00faltimo, se realiza un an\u00e1lisis estrat\u00e9gico del sector: como pre\u00e1mbulo de \u00e9ste, se analizan las oportunidades, amenazas, puntos fuertes y d\u00e9biles de la industria hotelera en m\u00e9xico, para despu\u00e9s revisar las estrategias de marketing observadas.  en el tercer cap\u00edtulo se examinan los pasos segudios en el trabajo emp\u00edrico y se definen los dos
