Se ha usado las l\u00edneas celulares hacat, pc12, es d3 y balb\/3t3, como modelos de dermotoxicidad, neurotoxicidad, embirotoxicidad y carcinog\u00e9nesis.  con la l\u00ednea hacat se ha determinado la toxicidad de distintos compuestos de platino, mediante la medida de la eficiencia en la formaci\u00f3n de colonias. las respuestas resultaron dependientes del tiempo de exposici\u00f3n y de la forma qu\u00edmica del elementos. Tambi\u00e9n se determin\u00f3 el fecto citot\u00f3xico de 51 metales a una concetraci\u00f3n fija.  la l\u00ednea pc12 se utliz\u00f3 para evaluar el efecto de 24 metales en la viabilidad celular. Los metales citot\u00f3xicos fueron ag, as, cd, cr, pt, se y te.  la l\u00ednea es d3 se us\u00f3 para estudiar el efecto inducido por metilmercurio en la frecuencia de latido. La citotoxicidad se evalu\u00f3 en la primera fase de diferenciaci\u00f3n.  con la l\u00ednea balb\/3t3 se estudi\u00f3 el potencial citot\u00f3xico y carcinog\u00e9ncio de especies org\u00e1ncias e inorg\u00e1ncias de ars\u00e9nico. Solo las especies inorg\u00e1ncias dieron resultados positivos en el ensayo morfol\u00f3gico de transformaci\u00f3n en opl\u00e1sica. Estos resultados confirman, por una parte, que los compuestos inoganicos de as son biol\u00f3gicamente m\u00e1s activos que los org\u00e1nicos y, por otra, la importancia fundamental de la especiaci\u00f3n de los metales en la respuesta toxicol\u00f3gica.  los resultados obtenidos constituyen un punto de partida para futuras investigaciones sobre los patrones metab\u00f3licos de los compuestos met\u00e1licos que se han considerdo de alta prioridad en base a su comportamiento en los ensayos in vitro utilizados.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
