El modelo desarrollado se aplica y valida para comparar la capacidad tecnol\u00f3gica del sector metal entre arag\u00f3n\/espa\u00f1a y guayana\/venezuela. se emplea el m\u00e9todo sicu (sistema integrado de categor\u00edas universales), aplicable al an\u00e1lisis y dise\u00f1o de sistemas complejos.  este m\u00e9todo codifica de forma unificada y nemot\u00e9cnica todas las variables con participaci\u00f3n en la innovaci\u00f3n a lo largo de todos los departamentos y recursos de la empresa. Su principal ventaja es que permite descubrir, por combinaci\u00f3n y subdivisi\u00f3n de las diferentes categor\u00edas del modelo, las celdas no consideradas inicialmente y que pueden tener valor innovador.  la tesis contribuye a mejorar competitividad del sector metal en ambas regiones, dado que este sector no cuenta con un estudio propio relativo a la cuantificaci\u00f3n y modelizaci\u00f3n de la gesti\u00f3n de proceso de innovaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica. Tras desarrollar un cuestionario amplio pero concreto y cuantificable, se han obtenido los datos de un centenar de empresas del sector metal en ambas regiones, mediante entrevista a directores generales y t\u00e9cnicos.  la tesis consta de tres partes: primero se analiza la capacidad tecnol\u00f3gica comparada entre ambas regiones, mediante el an\u00e1lisis univariante de las variables tecnol\u00f3gicas y se obtiene un par\u00e1metro condensado como nivel tecnol\u00f3gico, nt. Despu\u00e9s se estudia la evoluci\u00f3n del nivel tecnol\u00f3gico del sector metal en ambas regiones.
