Con el, los analisis disponen de una instalacion a escala 1:1 sobre la que validar y mejorar sus herramientas computacionales de simulacion. Dentro de este esfuerzo se inscribe el presente trabajo de tesis, que pretende mejorar algunos de los modelos pertenecientes al codigo march3 del \u00absource term code package\u00bb, que es actualmente el codigo mas utilizado en el mundo para analisis de accidentes de este tipo.  este codigo ha sido modificado, haciendo una representacion mas mecanicista de los fenomenos de los accidentes severos, ya sea suprimiendo o modificando modelos ya existentes, o agregando modelos completamente nuevos.  este trabajo ha permitido simular el accidente de tmi-2 de una manera mas cercana a como realmente ocurrio, y este aporte constituye la esencia de la presente tesis.  se describen, analizan y discuten las modificaciones introducidas, asi como los resultados de la simulacion de tmi-2, que presentan un acuerdo razonable con los fenomenos observados durante el accidente y en su posterior reconstruccion a partir del estudio del nucleo
