El primer capitulo trata de pierre-augustin caron de beaumarchais. Se divide en dos puntos: 1)enfoque general sobre el autor y 2)juicios criticos sobre el autor frances. Se citan algunos escritores contemporaneos y comedias de la epoca. Hay dos apartados: a) ideas generales y b) enumeracion de los escritores, dramaturgos de la epoca.-El capitulo segundo trata del teatro de beaumarchais, sus obras dramaticas y los personajes de las mismas. Eugenie, les deux amis, le barbier de seville, le mariage de figaro, la mere coupable.  el capitulo tercero trata de la presencia de beaumarchais en espa\u00f1a, alusiones y comentarios suscitados por la obra del autor frances. Figaro, presencia de beaumarchais mediante el personaje.  pseudonimo de larra. Se estudian tres traductores de beaumarchais, ramon de la cruz cano y olmedilla, manuel breton de los herreros, juan eugenio hartzenbusch.  se incluye una lista de los traductores de las obras de pierre-augustin caron de beaumarchais. En el capitulo cuarto se estudian las traducciones en castellano y en catalan y en el capitulo quinto las representaciones de obras y operas. Hay extensa bibliografia.
