trata de comprobar como los grandes temas platonicos de la tradicion del timeo tratados por calcidio, macrobio, boecio y marciano capella se encuentran reflejados en la cosmographia de silvestre, un poema cosmogonico del siglo xii que a traves de la alegoria y desde la lectura concordista del genesis y el timeo practicada en chartres aborda la historia del origen del mundo y del ser humano (microcosmos) a traves de una serie de personificaciones alegoricas femeninas como natura, noys etc. El objetivo es la exaltacion optimista y festiva de la natura, mater generationis, que adquiere los rasgos de las diosas paganas de la fertilidad.  no hay en esta obra una alusion explicita a la creatio ex nihilo sino a la exornatio mundi: el proceso ciclico de transformacion de la hyle en materia cuya fecundidad se ve coronada con la aparicion del ser humano.  finaliza nuestro estudio con unas conclusiones donde se subraya el naturalismo de esta obra que tanto ha de influir en jean de meun,
