En ausencia de aditivos, los sistemas acuosos del alquilsulfato sodicoson bifasicos a temperaturas inferiores a 298 k, mientras que el alquiletersulfato sodico presenta caracter monofasico en todo el intervalo de temperatura. La incorporacion de hexanol y butanol aumenta la solubilidad del alquilsulfato, y hace aumentar en todos los casos la viscosidad de los sistemas, apareciendo comportamientos no newtonianos en los sistemas de mayor concentracion. El aumento de viscosidad se justifica en base al crecimiento de las micelas del tensioactivo, asi como su transicion hacia agregados mas empaquetados, como cilindros.  se realiza tambien un estudio
