Se centra en el analisis de la liberacion \u00abin vivo\u00bb de aminoacidos neurotransmisores en la corteza frontal y parietotemporal, areas donde se localizan las funciones cerebrales mas alteradas, tanto durante el envejecimiento normal como en la demencia. Conocida la coexistencia de neuropeptidos y aminoacidos en las mismas neuronas, se investiga tambien la posible interaccion de estos con peptidos como la colecistoquinina (cck) y la substancia p (sp), ambos presentes en las zonas motivo de estudio. El modelo escogido en la rata de 24-30 meses de edad.
