Entre otros resultados obtenidos para superficies estables cabe citar la clasificacion de las superficies estables de genero uno en variedades con curvatura constante, la clasificacion de las superficies estables con curvatura media constante en el espacio proyectivo real rp3 y en las variedades r3\/so y la demostracion de un resultado de compacidad para superficies estables con genero mayor que uno en variedades llanas.  para superficies minimales con indice uno obtenemos resultados de compacidad para este tipo de superficies en toros llanos tridimensionales, y la clasificacion de superficies minimales no compactas con indice uno en variedades llanas y completas.  por ultimo, obtenemos ejemplos de superficies con curvatura media constante en cocientes de r3 cuyas aplicaciones
