El estudio se estructura en cinco capitulos que cubren los siguientes aspectos:                                              el primero trata el ambiente social y cultural en que se desenvolvia aguilar: sus relaciones familiares y sus interrelaciones con otros poetas dramaticos Valencianos, asi como estudios de la formacion educacional clasica y la actividad literaria del autor.               El segundo versa sobre la organizacion social espa\u00f1ola de los siglos de oro. Este aspecto se divide en dos partes:  una abarca la organizacion politica, otra la social y la tercera y ultima las relaciones familiares.  el tercero trata el amor como base fundamental del teatro del autor: se hace una clasificacion de las obras segun las barreras que obstaculizan la consecucion del amor por parte de los amantes; tambien se habla de la vida cotidiana de estos.                       El cuarto capitulo examina la tipolog\u00eda de los personajes y el quinto el arte teatral de las comedias de aguilar.  finalmente, vienen las conclusiones, la bibliografia y un apendice sobre la vida
